Hello everybody.
I would like to use Anki to learn data that is inside a database.
The database is a database of plants (you can get it from pfaf.org). And I would like to learn the characteristics of the plants of my region.
But as I approach this problem I realise this is actually a very general problem. So maybe someone else has faced and solved it before.

Is there are any simple way to import some data from an external database into the Anki database?
Where can I find the specifications of the Anki database so I can write a script that moves data from one DB format to the other?

Many thanks
Pietro

Since Anki supports importing from text files, it is probably easier to pull the data from the database to a CSV file and then import it into Anki. That way you don't have to deal with the internal workings of the database, only the actual information you want on your cards.

    Thanks,
    Great idea.

I will have to study it as the database oncluded some descriptive text, so I must make sure it gets read correctly.

    Cheers,
    Pietro
