General "life" deck

I've been using Anki to study Polish for around 18 months and more recently for learning about yoga. As such, Anki is now very much part of my daily life.

So I was thinking of starting a desk called "life" or something, for memorising all sorts of random things that it would be useful to remember. For example, all my credit card details, relatives' birthdays, passport number, etc.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else is using Anki in this way and what your experiences have been.

Yes, I use it to remember all types of random details. I don't use it so
much for personal information (although I do sometimes put my student's
names and faces, so that I don't forget their names when I see them
years later on campus). But I do put all types of random facts and
information in there that I'd like to remember. I think it can be quite
    helpful for that.

    Hi Rangi,

For things like credit cards and passport numbers, a password manager like 1password or lastpass is a better choice, as it will keep your information securely encrypted, and save you having to enter it in manually.

Yes, I do this. I now know which days the local pools and libraries are closed, and their hours. I know the hours of a couple of nearby stores. It works well for me.
