Anki freezes after executing regex

I used the following with the find and replace option:
Find: (transitivity)
Replace:\1
With Ignore Case and Treat input as regular expression enabled.

This froze anki, however after killing anki the cards were changed. Anki did give a warning about a invalid regex, after which a processing window opened which I wasn't able to close.

Attached you'll find the notes I was replacing stuff in.

I'm using Version 2.1.26 (2a0d40e1)

    I was able to reproduce this error with:
    Find: ({{c1::)
    Replace: \1␣
    (where ␣ was an actual space)
