Can't add photos to custom cards

I just tried to make a new deck for Chinese words I've found and I wanted to add a picture. I chose from my album but then, nothing. I took a photo and then nothing.

Also the Anki on my computer always says 'Connection Error Timed Out: Please try again on a different network'

HELP PLEASE.

I'm in China btw, so the latter issue may have something to do with that.

    Hi Oliver,

    Please make sure the cursor is in a field and the keyboard displayed before attempting to add an image, as that tells AnkiMobile where the image should be placed.

    Depending on the province you're in you may have trouble connecting to AnkiWeb's servers - using a VPN may improve the situation.

    Hello,

    I'm not using it on my laptop anymore because of this issue. I'm in the Zhejiang province, using a VPN but still no dice.

    I'm trying to add the images on my iPhone but they're not adding.

    Hi Oliver,

    Are you able to add an image if you edit an existing card instead of adding a new one? If you use the copy option while browsing images in the standard Photos app, then paste in one of the fields, does the image appear then?

    I just tried the copy and paste thing and it worked! Thank you.

    Any other ideas about the syncing thing with Anki on my laptop?

    Please take a look at

    'Syncing failed: Connection timed out' errors when syncing

    If it never appears to make any progress, the app may be firewalled, or you may need to adjust the proxy settings for your proxy/VPN
