Cross referencing decks

I think it'd be cool to be able to reference notes from other notes.

For example, I have 2 decks, one that is a list of kanji and their meaning, and a separate this is a list of example kanji compounds and the compound readings. I'd like to be able to see the meanings from deck 1 appear in the cards for deck 2.

For instance:
Deck 1:
Kanji: 西
Keyword: west
id: 1602

Kanji: 瓜
Keyword: melon
id: 1877

Deck 2:
Example Compound: 西瓜
Reading: すいか

I'd like to make some kind of template within a template (yo dawg...) on the cards for deck 2, that would produce:
西: west (1602)
瓜: melon (1877)

Something like:
{{cross-reference:input=Example Compound,deck=Deck 1,template={{Kanji}}: {{Keyword}} ({{id}})<br>}}

Would something like this be possible in a plugin? Does the template library support arguments?

You can search for a given kanji in the browser if you need to look it up, but there's no way to hotlink it without writing an add-on. I wouldn't really recommend that however - in most cases you should aim to be able to review the card without having to look at external material. is also related.
