Language is not remembered when adding new facts

Let me start by saying that I like Anki a lot. I have been using it to review my characters since I found out about the program some years ago. So great job Anki-team. Oh, and I do like Anki 2.0 better than the previous version, especially the deck system is very nifty.

I do however find one problem with the newest Anki that I did not have in the previous version. When adding characters, old Anki would remember which language was used for input in which field of a fact. For example, I could be using Chinese for the field 'character' and english for the fields 'pinyin' and 'English'. But in the newest Anki this is not possible; everytime I want to type in a character I have to change the language for that one field, only to change it again when I want to put in the pinyin in the next field. This really adds up when adding a large number of characters. Is is possible to get this feature back in an update to Anki 2.0?

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your quick response. The quick keys I have, but it is still somewhat annoying. Too bad this can be changed!

Hopefully this will be possible again in a future release.
