OSX Update Mechanism

It's rather frustrating to need to visit the website to download the entire application again when there is an update available.

Most of my other applications on OSX seem to use the same sort of built-in update mechanism. I assume they are delta updates, because they seem smaller than the apps themselves. Is it possible to build this feature into Anki rather than the method that's being used now?

Anki is written in cross-platform language called Python, which means that it's a bigger download than an OS-X only application, and more difficult to integrate with transparent update utilities. While not out of the question, it's not very high on the priority list at the moment I'm afraid.
