Is it possible to still display LaTeX with Anki 2.0.8? I'm not sure how to set it up, but upon trying to use LaTeX I get the error "Error executing latex. Generated file: H:\appdata\local\temp\anki_temp\tmp.tex. Have you installed latex and dvipng?"

If you create a small LaTeX document outside of Anki, then run it through LaTeX and dvipng, does it work right? If not, you may need to install or change configuration of one of those.

What operating system are you using?

Where do I acquire LaTeX and dvipng?

    I am on Windows 7.

MiKTeX is currently not working - is there an alternative?

I don't know of one for Windows, but there may be one. If you do some
research and find one and get it running outside of Anki, we can try to
help you connect it with Anki.

But what do you mean when you say it's "not working"? It would probably be
easiest to fix your current TeX installation.

Anki is only verified to work with MikTeX on Windows, so you'll need to get that working first. Your best bet is to contact the MikTeX folks, as I'm afraid we're not qualified to help you out with bugs in the MikTeX installer.

Please reopen this ticket if you've fixed MiKTeX but are still having trouble with Anki.
