Please see When problems occur
If you cannot close Anki, just kill you Anki application using a task manager.
When does this happen? Does it happen every time? Is it random? (https://stackoverflow.com/help/how-to-ask)

I had to kill the program then uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked! I
was worried it was a saving card issue. Thanks so much!
