I am using Anki, which I think is great, on my elderly laptop which has Windows 7, if that's relevant. I've been getting a message 'The version of Anki you are using will not be able to sync after Feb 1 2020. Please see https://bit.ly/355MnWb' so I went to the link, but felt worried by seeing a conversation about app and PC versions. Please could you advise me where to do to update Anki. I'm not very IT knowledgeable, but I will be swapping to a new laptop with Winnows 10 soon. I've been looking to see what version of Anki I'm using but can't find that information.
I thought I had already created an account, but your website says not.

  1. Anki 2.0 add-ons

Due to the libraries Anki 2.0 uses no longer being supported, Anki 2.0 has been discontinued, and may stop working in a future OS update. Please consider updating to Anki 2.1 instead.

If the add-on you want has a 2.0 download link on AnkiWeb, you can download the add-on's .py or .zip file.

    • If it's a .py file, place it in your add-on folder.
    • If it's a .zip file, unzip the contents into your add-on...

Many thanks, I have now used your website to successfully download an
appropriate version of Anki, and the warning about updating now longer
appears. I also seem to have persuaded your system that I exist, as it
    finally accepted my password.

Sorry, my computer won't let me type in above the line, but I've now solved
the problem, thanks to an earlier reply.
Thanks again for your prompt support.
