Part of updating is loosing things one really likes. Is there a ways to restore the following things (e.g. via add-on)?

  • Tab view for the different cards in a note type in the note type editing browser
  • The different bookmark symbols for "added today", "due", "marked" etc. in the left column of the card browser
  • The convenient buttons (and symbols) for "add", "details", "marked", "move", "add tag", "delete" etc. on the top of the card browser.
  • A slightly larger font size inside the deck overview window (and only for the deck overview window, nowhere else).

You might find these add-ons useful:

    --Customize Sidebar (
    --Fastbar (

Yes! Amazing. Thank you for finding them for me. Two problems solved.

Remains the look of the card template window ... and the font size for the deck list.

I've never used add-ons for those other two purposes, but there might be add-ons for them.

Here is one I quickly found for font size (

The other one you might need to browse through the long and growing list of available 2.1 addons. (

Thanks. I saw the font size add-on, but it changes the font size of ALL font in the interface. That take needlessly much space. I only want to influence the font size of the deck overview, which is ridiculously tiny in Anki 2.1 (in 2.0 it looks normal).

An alternative to the customize sidebar add-on is to use use the save option in the Filter button to save your commonly used searches as favourites.

That is true, I am quite attached to the different symbols though. The add-on is just fine for me. Thank you!
