Anki for Mac not showing correct image orientation

My Mac and Anki iOS both show the attached image right-side up (it was originally sideways but I used Mac's rotate image feature in Finder to fix it). However, Anki for Mac still shows the image sideways (I can only fix this by opening the image in Preview, exporting a new image, and replacing the old image with the new one). Do you know what's wrong with Anki for Mac?

(I observe that in the image preview the image is sideways but when I click on the jpg link the image is right-side up.)

Some programs like Anki's web toolkit and Chrome do not honor image rotation tags, so you'll need to use a different tool than Preview to rotate the image, or save the image without exif rotation tags: https://www.reddit.com/r/Anki/comments/7enqml/anki_image_occlusion_...
