Interval suddenly jumps back

Dear community,

Since a few days, I noticed that Anki sets the Interval of SOME older cards suddenly back like it were a new card and also updates the ease to the default value of 250%. In the example below, the Interval jumps back from 17d to 2d.

A few days ago, I did set the configuration back to it's default values by pressing "Restore Defaults" in the Options menu. I am not sure if this has caused the problem, esp. since it doesn't happen for all cards.
I haven't studied for 2 or 3 days.

Linux: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Anki: Version 2.1.15 (442df9d6)
I don't use any plugins.

This is a trace of a test run today:

1.) I get the "Info" for a card in the browser:

The next time it happens, please undo the review and sync your collection to AnkiWeb, then point the card out and I'll take a look.

Damien, thanks a lot for your very quick reply !
I'm quite unhappy about the whole thing, as you probably can guess...

I followed your steps, and card Info is below. The sync is done on this
    email address.
Maybe I should add, that this happened not only to a card here and there,
    but to many of them.

The card in question has an interval of 1 day, which shouldn't happen during normal review. You say you're not using add-ons, and I presume you did not manually reschedule the card in the browser? My best guess in that case is that the interval has been changed incorrectly when you studied ahead using the custom study feature. Please try the new scheduler and then see if a card answered after switching to the new scheduler exhibits the problem (bearing in mind that the issue may still exist for cards you reviewed previously):

Experiment scheduling changes in Anki 2.1

    That's it!
I rescheduled around 80 cards in order to decrease my review load for the
day and didn't know that it resets my intervals...
Now, I've imported a .colpkg from a few days before and everything seems
fine, I'll just need to do some more reviews the next days.

I am very grateful for your quick and uncomplicated help - Thanks a lot !
Anki is great, and I'm happy that there is such an active community.

    Wishing you all the best,
    Markus
