Error Message corrupt file

Received this error message:

Anki's prefs21.db file was corrupt and has been recreated. If you were using multiple profiles, please add them back using the same names to recover your cards.

and now cannot access my decks. any advice?

    If you add new profile name(s) that match the old profile folders you had, you'll be able to open your old data again. You can locate your profile names by looking in your Anki folder: https://apps.ankiweb.net/docs/manual.html#file-locations

    Hi, I unfortunately cannot even open the app to add back the file. The
    second I click on the application, it gives me the error message and will
    not go away.

    Please rename both prefs21.db and prefs.db in that folder if it exists to something else, restart your computer, and then try open Anki again. It may also be worth installing the latest Anki version, as it looks like you're running an older version. If you still have problems after that, please let me know.
