Anki (Computer Version) →

Trying to install Anki on a macbook pro, running OSX 10.11.6
It will not install. Every version I try tells me that Anki does not run on any OSX under 10.12.
I get the error message:
"You have OSX 10.11.6. The application requires OSX 10.12 or later."
Yet this contradicts the information on the Anki website.
It does not matter which version of Anki I install, or how far back I go, I get this error message.
Anyone any ideas?

The -alternate version supports 10.10 and greater. Please make sure you're opening the -alternate version, and not some other version you've downloaded previously.
