Putting in this HTML table glitched the editor

The first image is the add card page.

Then i put the cursor in the Grammatik field and click "Edit HTML" from the hamburger menu, and paste the HTML at the bottom of this post.

Second image is the add card page after the HTML has been added.

Third image is if you click the "Cards..." button after that. The table has disappeared (like if Anki deleted the offending code).

Fourth page also reflects this, with everything back to sanity but no table (and no table code if you click on "Edit HTML").

The HTML you are entering in is not valid.

How do you know? What about it isn’t valid? And even if it isn’t, just to make sure I understand correctly, this software is working as intended? It’s not a bug?

The HTML editor is an advanced feature - if you enter invalid HTML into it, the behaviour is undefined. Your code appears to be missing the outer table tag, and the opening and closing tags don't match. You may want to look into an external HTML editor or validator if you're unfamiliar with HTML.
