I use Anki on my iPhone and MacBook and regularly sync between the two. today a load of my decks. had been deleted off my MacBook but not my phone. I sent across the relevant decks. this kept happening until those decks deleted off my phone. whenever I try to restore from a back up, the decks are still empty. it's very annoying as they were all created by hand of the course of the last 18 months, and I can find no explanation for this or how to get them back.

You have dragged some of the decks underneath other decks so they are nested in a tree. You can use the +/- icons to the left of a deck to hide/show its children. If that does not explain the issue you are having, please give me an example of a deck that should be appearing but is not.
