I use Anki to study Chinese, and use the Sogou pinyin input method on a mac to create example sentences with cloze. Unfortunately, when utilizing the cloze deletion shortcut (command+shift+c), you might be aware that whenever the shift key is pressed, Sogou switches the keyboard back to English. As a result, every time I use the cloze shortcut, my keyboard switches back to English, and I have to switch it back to Chinese by pressing shift each time I wish to make a new card. This gets annoying pretty quickly. Is there any workaround you can think of?

If Sogou is set up to switch the layout when you press shift, you'll need to choose a different key that will not conflict.

You could change the keyboard shortcut by creating an addon, or ask on the
users forum if someone's interested in doing so (the relevant code looks to
be aqt/editor.py line 424-425). Alternatively, you could try to change the
keyboard switch to something other than shift, or perhaps look into a text
expansion/macro tool where you could type a key combination (Ctrl-Alt-C,
say) and have it pass Ctrl-Shift-C through to Anki.
