In anki1 you could use shortcuts (or more so "keyboard accelerators" - i.e. underlined letters on UI parts to access it quicker) - it was handy when adding new cars as one can simply use alt+a to add another card without havint to use [tab] a lot nor use mouse.

You can press Ctrl-Enter to add a new card. Every button in the add cards window except for Help has a keyboard shortcut which is listed in the tooltip. (Close is Escape, which isn't listed as a tooltip.)

(why this was closed?! O_x also - tenderapp has most annoying UI ever...)

nevertheless - mentioned solution (in the tooltips) is highly couterintuitive and doesn't follow any HIG/UX guidlines... in principle most OS simply use undescore of the letter to mark shortcuts. It's easy, it's there, it doesn't require bigger learning curve nor memorization of the shortcuts as they are already there in front of the user...

bottomline - if possible please revert/stick to OS guidlines...

This is a help forum, and I answered your question in a way that I thought would resolve it. It is not a place for discussion—if you wish to discuss changes to the interface, please do so on the users forum.

I would be happy to debate the merits of that approach, but as mentioned this is not the appropriate place to do so.

Hm, I was on google groups but anki-users disappeared for me from my subscription list and anki-help redirected me here thus I assumed you moved away from google groups completely - mea culpa.

Also - your help is greatly appriciated :) I'll create a thread with motion to change/improve UI in the mentioned respect :)
