Error message when syncing (for both computer and mobile iphone app)

Whenever I try to sync on my mobile app, I get a message saying:

"After syncing, the colleciton was in an incosistent state. To fix this problem, Anki will force a full sync. Please syn again, and choose which side you would like to keep"

But when I try syncing again, it gives me the same message (doesn't do a full sync, even when I force it to)

I get the same message with my computer software now too.

Help!

    Please run a database check on the computer version and then full sync up,
    as it is likely your collection is in an inconsistent state.

    Thanks. I had the same problem and this worked for me. The desktop app ended up deleting two bad notes. For those of you who don't know how to run a database check, it's under Tools > Maintenance > Check Database...
