has any one been having this problem, where it throws up this error?

It's been updated. Please use Tools - Add-ons - Check for Updates to update the add-on and restart Anki. I only tested it with a few sets but it seems to work fine now.

It still doesnt work for me. Now I get this message.

Try to update Anki if your version is less than 2.1.15, uninstall the add-on and install it again.

It appears you're trying to import cards that are already in your collection. If you copy some part of the question/answer or maybe image filename, then open the card browser and search for it, you should be able to find all 69 notes. Maybe there're in a filtered deck or maybe were moved to a different deck sometime before.

I'm not sure when it'll be updated and If you'd like to keep using it, you'd need to use "Downgrade & Quit" from File>Switch Profile menu and reinstall Anki 2.1.15.
Otherwise, just uninstall it and maybe try something else.
I'm not sure about Anki 2.1.29, but if you downgrade to Anki 2.1.22/2.1.23, you should be able to use the Lifedrain addon with the Pomodoro timer endgame.

hi! so I downgraded back to 2.1.15 so the pomodore timer works, but now the
hierarchical tags keeps showing 0 cards! it was working perfectly fine
before this.

Sorry, here is a more detailed email about what happened:
I recently updated to Anki 2.29 from an older version (not sure which one I
had). After doing this, my hierarchal tags add on has stopped working. The
add on is called Hierarchical Tags addon 20 21. Since then, I had
downgraded my anki to 2.1.15, checked for updates for the add on, toggled
it on and off, and opened and closed my anki. However, after doing all
this, when I try to go thru the tags, it always shows 0 cards.

Maybe try to temporarily disable it and run Tools - Check Database to remove unused tags. If everything is fine, uninstall and install it again or maybe Hierarchical Tags 2

For some reason it is still not working. I tried all the things you just
said, but I am still seeing this:

Does it work with the same tag if you disable the addon and restart Anki?
Or just restart Anki and hold down the Shift key to temporarily disable all
the addons.

I also tried to open up the synched deck on a different laptop and am
seeing the same thing, where there are 0 cards when I select browse. This
laptop has never updated anki since last year.

This is strange. If tags were unused, they would have been deleted after
Tools - Check Database. Maybe click "Whole Collection" to list all the
cards and view a random card. It should have some tags in it. Then click on
the same tag in the sidebar.
Maybe Anki is slow to find them, but Tools - Check Database should have
optimized the database and Anki probably would have been unresponsive in
this case.
Maybe create a new Anki profile, add a few cards with hierarchical tags in
them, open the card browser and click on tags, just to make sure that Anki
and the add-on works fine.
Maybe try a backup from a few days ago. Since it's just for testing
purposes, create a new Anki profile, click Open Backup... and use a backup
from the main Anki profile.

it works now! I restarted my computer, then checked a random card from
whole collection, and found it in the sidebar. not sure how it got fixed
after I restarted, but thank you so very much for all your help. I really
really really appreciate it. i couldnt study for med school without it.

Hi, do you know what to do?
I got a message saying to restart my anki by disabling all add ons,
which I did, but my anki is now displaying a new message.
