I have just installed the Japanese Support addon (3918629684), restarted Anki and try to generate the reading for a new word entry, upon which I got the error on the image attached.

I removed the addon and tried again, but the same thing happened. It had worked fine in the past.

Please advise.

@thilo.mardaus, I found this too and reported it at https://anki.tenderapp.com/discussions/beta-testing/1704-anki-2120-.... It's been fixed as of 2.1.21beta2, so for now I'd recommend going back to v2.1.19, or dealing with the inconvenience until 2.1.21 non-beta is released.

@mnating, thanks a lot for your swift reply. I'll consider going back to the 1.19 version.

This is probably antivirus or firewall software on your machine blocking mecab.exe in the add-on folder. If you have follow-up questions, please post over on the user forums: https://forums.ankiweb.net/t/japanese-support/81

    Dear Damien,

I’m afraid this mail went to the wrong address. I haven’t contacted you about an error.
